Michael Kwon joins the Brooklyn Tech Alumni Foundation as its Director of Development in November 2024. He brings more than 12 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector, where he passionately supported causes in human services, higher education, financial literacy, and community services. Michael is skilled in major gifts, donor relations, strategic planning, annual appeals, grant writing, event management, and databases. Michael believes in the human connection and strives to build relationships that matter.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Michael was a Major Gifts Officer at Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles, where he built and nourished long-lasting relationships with donors and raised over a million dollars to fight against homelessness in the heart of Skid Row. Although he is not a product of BTHS, Michael is a fan of Tech and is keen on elevating the Foundation and the school.
Michael received his BS in Sociology from University of California Riverside and his MSW from Columbia School of Social Work.
