When Elizabeth Sciabarra became the executive director of the Alumni Foundation after 37 years of service to New York City public schools, she brought her career full circle to where it all began — back at Tech.
Previous to joining the Foundation, which she continues to serve as a special advisor, Liz was CEO and founder of the NYC DOE Office of Student Enrollment. She stepped down from her role as executive director of the Foundation in July 2021.
During her tenure at Brooklyn Tech, Liz, fondly known as Ms. Ski, served as an English teacher, then as Coordinator of Student Affairs, and later as Assistant Principal of Pupil Personnel Services. She also coached the cheerleading team. After Tech, Liz served as principal of New Dorp High School on Staten Island for almost ten years before becoming Deputy Superintendent of Brooklyn and Staten Island High Schools, Deputy Superintendent of High Schools, and finally Superintendent of Selective Schools.
Throughout her career, Liz has shown an unrelenting drive to put students first, becoming an inspiration and a model for thousands of Tech alumni.
