Ann-Marie Foster ’86 Expands Access to Recovery and Mental Health Care
President and CEO of Phoenix Houses of New York and Long Island, Ann-Marie Foster ’86 (formerly Goddard) —named as a 2026 City and State NY's listing of 2026 Black Trailblazers—has long been a leader in expanding care for individuals facing substance use and related mental health challenges. With more than fifteen years of experience at NYC Health + Hospitals, including eight years directing the 359-bed psychiatric department at Bellevue Hospital, Ann-Marie brought deep health-care expertise when she joined Phoenix House in 2017. Under her leadership, the organization has broadened its health and educational programming, including the opening of a new clubhouse in Harlem last year.
