Chase Kellebrew ‘22: The Grandmaster of Slime
Chase Kellebrew, a 20-year-old Brooklyn Tech ‘22 alum, has been dubbed the "grandmaster of slime" by The New Yorker (May 13, 2024). Chase, a Law & Society graduate, is making waves with his innovative slime creations, earning praise from celebs like Jessica Alba, Drew Barrymore, and Christine Aguilera.
A lifelong resident of the East Village, Chase, who began making slime at age 13, is “the presiding genius,” as reported by The New Yorker, of SoHo’s SlooMoo Institute, which bills itself as a “multi-sensory slime experience.”
He makes “a very comfortable living“ as a full-time employee of the institute. “My Tech experience helped me learn the importance of pursuing what I love,” he says, “and encouraged me to continue with a less conventional career path.”
Ms. Kim Nicolosi, a guidance counselor at Brooklyn Tech, says “Chase was my student and we used to talk about this all the time. I am so happy for him!”
