We travel through life with various and sundry crises happening to make life more interesting. I’m a California CPA who ‘escaped’ Los Angeles in 1981, followed by California in 1990, becoming a CPA in Guangdong Province, China and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of CPAs.

After my 25-year marriage ended, I flew to China and lived between Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Bangkok since December 1990. Katherine and I met in Guangzhou and married there in 1993. Joanna was born in 1994. I worked with all things ‘tax’ throughout Asia. While I never plan to retire, I do believe in work reduction and we plan to move to Santa Monica, CA after decades of life in Asia.
