Recent Alumni Day Brings Back Hundreds of Young Grads to Brooklyn Tech to Inspire Future Generations
On January 7, 2025, Brooklyn Tech proudly hosted Recent Alumni Day, welcoming 400 dynamic alumni volunteers from the classes of 2019 through 2024. These recent graduates returned to campus to inspire thousands of current students by sharing their unique journeys through higher education and into the early stages of their careers. Representing a wide array of institutions from across the state and country—including the Ivy League schools, MIT, and leading SUNY and CUNY campuses—these alumni provided invaluable insights into navigating college pathways connected to Tech’s 18 specialized majors.

Supported by 78 enthusiastic faculty members, Recent Alumni Day featured 233 classroom sessions, each one a chance for students to learn from alumni who had only recently walked the same hallways. These sessions covered a variety of fields, from engineering and medicine to business, technology, and the arts. By sharing their personal stories, challenges, and triumphs, Brooklyn Tech’s newest graduates encouraged current Technites to explore a wide range of opportunities and pathways for their futures.
Courtney J. Ulrich ’90, Executive Director of the Brooklyn Tech Alumni Foundation, expressed her gratitude for the alumni’s continued dedication. “It’s inspiring to see so many young Technites return to invest their time and energy in mentoring our students,” she said. “They prove that Brooklyn Tech isn’t just a high school—it’s a lifelong community.”
Michelle Corley, Director of Alumni Engagement and Inclusion, emphasized the event’s importance in fostering connections between generations of Technites. “Recent Alumni Day is all about bridging the gap between current students and those who were in their shoes not long ago. It’s about showing what’s possible and creating a network of support that lasts well beyond graduation,” she noted.
The event’s success was a testament to the collaborative efforts of alumni, faculty, and staff, all committed to enhancing the educational experience of Brooklyn Tech students.
Reflecting on the Day
More than just a career-focused event, Recent Alumni Day strengthens the Technite community, inspiring students to dream big and pursue their goals with confidence, supported by the examples set by those who came before them.
Looking Forward
Recent Alumni Day is just one of the many ways the Brooklyn Tech Alumni Foundation connects alumni with current students, cultivating a vibrant culture of mentorship and mutual support. The Foundation is already looking ahead to its next big event: Homecoming 2025, taking place on Saturday, April 26th.
