A retired professor of sociology and science studies at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Dr. Restivo has been a leading researcher in the sociology of science and mathematics for more than two decades. He has published 20 books and his book, The Social Relations of Physics, Mysticism, and Mathematics, has become a classic. His work on the sociology of mathematics has been extremely influential in the field of math education worldwide.
